I used to keep this journal of my quilt projects from design to finish. I haven't found anything similar for cross stitching and I know one day my memories will fade. Then I was contacted by My Memories(all colored text like this is a link that will take you to their page) and asked to try their digital scrapbook software. This was right up my alley. I tried to scrapbook once, after spending oodles on Stampin Up products and just couldn't get into it. But I am a digital kind of gal. So I gave it a try!! And here is a unique way I came up with showing off and keeping track of my finished projects:
Now is that cool or what? The program was sooo easy to use. I'm not creative in this sense, but all the packages they have available for free, for 99 cents (and up), make it so easy! I spent 10$ and got OVER 62 downloads of papers, embellishments, word art, quick pages, etc. And being digital software makes it so easy. I know some of my pics the fabby is all wrinkled, but it will be so easy when I get them framed up to just delete that pic and put the finished one in. I can print them myself, put it on a jump drive and take it to Kinko's or somewhere and have it printed, or you can go to their website at My Memories and order it made into an album!!

Now you want to know the really cool part? Just for trying it and blogging about it, they are letting me give 1 program away!! After using your code to get the program free, you will also receive a $10 certificate code to use to order papers, embellishments, etc!! How cool is that!! So whether you want to create a yearly craft book like I am, or make family memories, you can zip right along with this awesome program!!

I am holding a drawing for the free program and taking entries from now until next Friday (August 9, 2013). On Saturday August 10, 2013 I will draw the winner. Comment below for 1 entry into the drawing. Here are some ways to gain additional entries:
Why? I look at my goal list (especially since we are halfway through the year), and I feel like a big fat failure as I'm getting so little done on the projects I listed for this year. On the other hand....I'm doing a lot of extras and I'm happy with my completed projects list. I'm battling this right now, because several on my goal list are currently in rotation and right now, I have absolutely 0 interest in my rotation. I want to stitch something else!! I'm so mixed on the goal list.

This is one of the projects I started working on:

This is from the movie Labyrinth and is for the hubby. I also have the Marvel comics alphabet he wants so bad. I ran out of thread for this one last night. I started looking through patterns thinking I wanted to do some fall ones. Wouldn't you know every dang one I tried to kit up is missing at least 1 thread color?

So now I've made working patterns of some of my pink ribbon patterns and am considering trying to kit those up. I would really like to do some pink ribbon stitching and scarves to donate to next years Bike Run. I would also like to do some to donate to the Epilepsy Foundation.

On the Ty front, we got his certificate and are working on the driving experience. He's got the feel of the 'burban now. Today we need to focus on vehicle control. His dang size 14 foot has a tendency to slip and hit the gas when he means to hit the brakes, he doesn't have a good feel for accelerating yet, but we've not been on roads where he can get that feel either. He needs to gain more control in turns and just overall build his control of the vehicle before I take him on a busy road. It's all about time and confidence. I FINALLY saw an upswing in his driving confidence yesterday. That was so exciting and good to see. I realized when we were talking, he's trying to be the tough, stoic guy and not admitting fear. When in truth he is scared of driving and has 0 confidence in himself. Some of it is because of his wreck. That really, really shook him up. Understandable! But the other part, is his epilepsy. Last year proved to us that it can come back even if you've been seizure free for a year or more. We're 8 months in now. But ALWAYS in the back of his mind is, Is this the day I have another seizure. Now adding driving it is compounded with "what if I have one while driving". Going through this with him has really opened my mind to the struggles of an epileptic person. I'm so thankful that we do gain so much control with his meds as I know there are many out there that the best control they can get is down to a few seizures a day. Our goal right now is to keep prodding Ty and have a lot of positive interactions with him and try and set him up for successes so that confidence can build. Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-17839811851742035592013-07-23T21:36:00.003-05:002013-07-23T21:36:32.102-05:00Seriously..June 15th was my last post?I am beyond falling way behind then. I do have somewhat of a reason though. I normally use LiveWriter to do my blog. Well, my 'puter died. I had to get a new one and I still haven't loaded livewriter on it. But, I thought, maybe, just maybe I'll be able to write my blog like normal :)

Ty, hmm, poor kid, he is having ups and downs. Thankfully today was a talking day. When his mood flips, there is no talking to him, it is very adversarial, but today was a good day. He got stuck for the longest on his Driver's Ed, and we talked about that. But he did finally finish it, his certificate is being mailed. So now it is a matter of getting him driving and experienced so he can take his driving test. It's a little scary because he's only taking his seizure meds every 2-3 days to try and make what is there last longer. He has no insurance now, those meds are easily 500 a month. He has applied to the local clinic here, but no word yet. And since it is for indigents, it can take forever, so he is probably going to have to run out of meds, run the risk of some of the most dangerous seizures, and when he has one, take him to the ER and maybe it will get the app pushed through faster.

Hmm, on the stitching front? I'm not sure where I last was, so here is a current report and pics:
Some works in progress: Oriental Dragon, Spring Butterfly and Coyote Portrait (re-started on different fabby)

And wouldn't you know it, I can't find the pics of the other patriotics I finished!! I also have another silkweaver order, but I don't have the pics transferred. I set my scan disk that holds the mini disk somewhere safe and I can't find it!! I'll have to wait till my phone is back on to email them to myself so I can load them. Same for the progress pic on The Pack.

I'm trying to crochet. I remember doing it when I was little but it sure isn't coming back to me like cross stitch did! I'm not going to give up and I am going to keep going at it until I figure it out! That has taken a lot of cross stitch time. But I did get 200 stitches done on The Pack and I pulled out A House is Made to work on in the evenings. I have to have something out to cover my tracks as I'm working on the Labyrinth quote for James's birthday. I doubt I will have it done by Friday since I can only work on it while he is gone to work, but I'm going to give it a good try!! And I guess that is all my updates for now!!
This week started off VERY rough! The washer “broke”. It was the filter, but getting to it was NOT easy, 3 days later fixed. There was LOTS of Tyler drama. He moved back to Amarillo. It took one night of him “living” with his friend Jake to become humble and talk right to come home. He talks a good talk, but he always has. We are waiting to see if he will follow through for more than 2 weeks. Please pray for him! He is going to get back in therapy too.

My mailman made this week all worth it. First I got my Silkweaver order. The insurance totaled the ‘burban due to the hail damage and it has been hectic dealing with that. We now have a little newer model white ‘burban. It’s only critique is that the leather captain seats in front are torn on the edges. I’m investigating seat covers, yes. The seats seem wonky though and I can’t find a thing to fit. I may have to go special order, or just cover the bottom or something. I don’t know. Seb is now out of school and can say he is a SENIOR. I just started Oriental Dragon and am please with the progress I made. I really hated to put it away, I was just enjoying it too much!! 6 weeks is going to be a long time to wait for it’s next turn!!

I got 2 columns on the 1st page done!! Woo hoo!! I’m now working on “The Pack”. I got a row on the 1st page done this weekend, so that is exciting. It’s now kind of like a contest to see how much I can get done in 1 week I did play with my PCStitch, Winstitch and another patternmaker. But I just am not good at this whole converting pattern making thing. This is what I originally had:

My dad spent 20 years as a Dallas Police Officer and was also on SWAT. But, when I showed this to my mom, I learned that daddy’s badge was gold because he was a Sergeant. I tried to change the silver to gold and just couldn’t fathom it. It needed color tweaking because I don’t think lavender really belonged in there. But again, that is just beyond my skill set. Then I found this one:

Gold, perfect. BUT, I really want the flag background!! So bad! I tried layers, but then there is the white around the badge and I just couldn’t erase it right. Not to mention the letters and scroll design between Dallas and Texas get all blurred once I convert it. So I am very, very frustrated. I wish I could find a class to take on learning how to do this. But nope, there aren’t any. And I’m just not the patient kind to sit and play with it. So it is once again tabled as I mull it over some more.
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-56829669654143898082013-05-25T19:48:00.001-05:002013-05-25T19:48:17.546-05:00A little Saturday night fun….
Yep, I’m posting way too much for me! Don’t know why, guess I’m just in a “blog” kind of mood. So I ran out of my thread for Spring Butterfly and have to wait for the rest to come in. Here is where I have left off with it:

That means I got to start Oriental Dragon a day early and I won’t argue It has been fun so far, but I am only 200 stitches in. I am enjoying it so much more being on 14 count. So much so that I’m debating re-starting the HAED and doing it on 16 count. I know, it would be huge, but I ran it by the hubby and he thought it would be totally awesome! So I’m going to have to ponder that one, not to mention see if I can get fabby that size. And that might actually require some kind of stand. I also switched Coyote over to Aida and will be starting it over when it’s up for its turn again…. And where do I do all this thinking and stitching? Right here of course!

Welcome to the best seat in the house! And I adored that idea, even though I didn’t want to sign up for the TUSAL (Lord knows I can barely keep track of what day of the week it is!). So I started saving mine at the beginning of the year. Some have been following since they were only a few days old and have watch them grow and encouraged me as we ventured in new territory caring for these two babies. They are a year old now can you believe it? Gambit still takes after his name and is the sweetest mischievous brat I know!! He loves to butt heads and love on you. And he’ll lay on your chest and get to purring, but he still has to nuzzle your face. He gladly accepts hugs and kisses, even on the face. He’s the one that likes the outdoors and loves to go out with the doggies. He also will sit on command for a treat, like the doggies. Both kitties line up with the doggies for treat. I don’t know if it was the grain free food, the change in the water bowl, or simply finding out that he really prefers to drink from a running faucet and giving him lots of opportunity to do this. They’ve not had any of the catnip for awhile either. I want them to clear up just a little more, which means no sign of them, then I may try the catnip and see if that was what triggered it. I’m collecting/starting some butterflies because a room somewhere is going to be butterfly themed. Cave or bathroom, don’t know which yet.

On the kitty front, Logan still has the sores. One day they look better, the next they are flared. I did call the vet and they think it *might* be rodent sores. Generally caused by an allergy or immune disorder. Generally recurrent and tough to get rid of, generally needing shots. BUT, they did give me the amt of benadryl he could take, so we have done that some. Food has been changed over to a grain free food and they have not had any cat nip. Poor babies. Oh, and the fur baby water bowl was a huge plastic mixing bowl and I switched it out to a metal one so that he is not using any plastic dishes. I’m not even sure he drinks out of the communal water bowl as he really gets excited if there is a sink or bath running and will drink forever from the faucet. So I’m also trying to run a faucet for him a little more often to make sure he is getting plenty of water. It still changes from one day to the next. Like today his lip LOOKS swollen when you look at him, but when I look at it up close, it doesn’t look bad at all. I don’t see any sores, a little redness/irritation, but no sores. I’m keeping a very close eye on it because a google search of rodent sore images showed some very nasty ones and there is no way in hades I will let that happen to my baby without some aggressive treatment. Hopefully what we are doing will clear it up, but it won’t surprise me if we make a visit to the vet in a couple of weeks.
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-68863353948039389742013-05-14T22:45:00.001-05:002013-05-14T22:45:53.140-05:00KITTY QUESTION
Okay, I know this isn’t stitching related, but I have a kitty question. As most of you know, the kitties are new critters to us (okay, yes x1 year since we raised them since 1 day old, but we’ve only ever had dogs) and we are unfamiliar with things that can happen with kitties (other than UTI’s). Logan had what appeared to be a bite for some sort on his mouth a few weeks to a month ago. It was in the upper lip, back corner of one side. I check on it every few days or so and it kind of spread on that upper lip and I didn’t worry too much. Figured bite needs to heal. Then it got into the crack/corner of his lip and spread into the bottom portion. Just that corner of that side. Well, checking tonight, it is starting the exact same way on the OTHER side now. And the original side isn’t even healed up yet! AND, he has a red spot right between his nose/lip area where it looks like it might be coming up there. It almost starts out like a popped pimple, little puffiness, etc. Their food was changed about 6 weeks ago, catnip changed brands right before this started. So I’m not sure if it’s an allergy to one of these, although it times more in line with the catnip change than the food change, or if cats can get herpes or what? Gambit doesn’t have anything like it and they clean each other, fight and tussle, etc. No doggies or humans have it either. It appears to be exclusive to Logan only. He is indoor only and never ever ventures out. I have no clue what to do. He is eating fine, drinking fine, nothing that is yelling at me, VET NOW. But, as far as I know, unlike dogs, cats can not have anything human OTC. dogs are so much easier, think it’s an allergy, I know how much benadryl to give them, how much robitussin, aspirin, tramadol, ointments to use, peroxide, you name it. Cats, I know NOTHING. I know of no supplements, ointments, anything. So for those of you with kitty experience, if you have any idea what this could be, or what I can try to do to treat at home, it would be greatly appreciated. Don’t worry, I have no qualms taking him to the vet, but since it doesn’t seem to be serious I would like to try and figure it out and treat at home. (Yes, I’ve taken a dog to the vet before who appeared to be losing weight, she was just growing…yeah, so don’t worry, if we can’t figure it out and it doesn’t heal, he gets to go for a car ride!!)
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-34950541816684925862013-05-12T19:47:00.001-05:002013-05-12T19:47:42.028-05:00Holy guacamole! First 200 stitches :)
It has felt so good being in the cave today behind some needle and fabric! I got the first 200 stitches put in my very first HAED…”Fright Night”. Pewter Lugana. I’m doing 2 threads over 1. But man, those are some super teeny tiny little x’s. And my back is not only a super hot mess, it is a HARD mess making it hard to get the needle through sometimes. I’m also still trying to figure out how I want to handle the needles. I’ve got a box with all the threads in it. From there I pull out what is in the boxes I’ll be working on that day and put them in the lamp stand. Today, I used the needle minder and did the whole symbol/number thing on it (for today’s threads only). That makes it quicker to switch through I think, but I’m not sure how it will work in the long run. I’m supposed to be looking through the bottom of the bi-focals to do this, and I actually go back and forth. Either way it’s still tough on the eyes. Any suggestions on how to organize, stitch, etc? Ty moved to Dallas with my parents yesterday. I’m so thrilled and excited for him, but I miss him. Didn’t think I would, but after I got back yesterday, I did not want to be home with his empty room! We have some spackling and painting to do on it then Seb will move in there and Frank will move into Seb’s room. Things will continue to be a little crazy I guess! All the furs are doing good. I haven’t stitched in weeks. So today, I’m making a point of being in my cave and starting my first ever HAED. It is next in rotation. After the nightmare we went through with Cashew last year that is a plus. The kitties are crazy as ever. I’ve noticed Gambit loves to put his head down in the toilet and “sing” so it echoes. OMG, I had so much fun. It was sooooo relaxing and fun. I started teaching her to cross stitch. What’s funny is that when I got there, my suitcase with the broken leg fell over on my foot. Oh boy did that hurt and start to bruise up. The next day, I rammed a toe into this metal thing against a curb. Then the next day I rammed my pinky toe into the foot of my mom’s bed. ALL ON THE SAME DARN FOOT! That foot sure did hurt and it kept getting worse. Finally after being home for 3 days I took myself to the er. An xray showed that the suitcase had originally hairline fractured the foot, but the weeks worth of walking on it caused it to actually break. 4-6 weeks OFF the foot. Then after being home for a few hours, totally bummed, the radiologist called back to inform me 2 other bones were fractured. Dag nab it. James brought me home a boot yesterday and said I should be able to walk with it, so I walked with the boot yesterday. When he got home he royally chewed me out, guess he changed his mind. And I am paying for it let me tell you. My foot kept me up most of the night and has done nothing but throb and throb. I can't get crutches yet, so I’m having to use Ty’s. He’s 6 foot, I’m 5 foot 5. His arm rest hit right below my shoulders, so I have to put my hands on the hand thingys, but not under my arm pits. Oh my lord, that puts a huge strain on your arms and back. And it’s not stable. I am so sore. I have also found you can not successfully carry a cup of coffee, a soda or anything else while using crutches. And I have many very narrow doors in my house. I know in the past year or so I’ve started forgetting stuff. I mean walk through the house to a room to do something but forget by the time I get there and worse. I blamed it 100% on the Topamax (stupamax). Now with a soft diagnosis of fibromyalgia, I’m wondering how much of it is Topamax and how much of it is fibro? I think I got a little taste of it yesterday. I got up, did a few things around the house, put some tea on the stove to start, and decided to get out of the house for a bit. After running 1 errand and getting all the way across town from the house, it dawned on me, I never turned the burner under the tea out. No batteries in the smoke detectors. OH MY HOLY COW!!! Ty is sound asleep, no phone. Called James, he is out of town. I’m picturing a fire starting on the stove. I called a friend of ours whose mother lives next door and told her what was going on and she got her mom to go beat on Ty’s window till they got him up and got him to turn it off. The tea was a blackened ruin in the pan. The red pan was turning black on the outside. The miracle here, and a testament to these pans, it’s a Paula Deen pan, it all came clean and undamaged! So I finish my errands and get home. Now I did put the pan w/water on to boil to help loosen the burnt remains in the pan and I was toodling on the computer. James came home for lunch and we chatted for a bit and it dawned on me Seb had a dr appt. So I left to go pick him up. After we got to the dr’s office I called James, praying and hoping he remembered to TURN THE FIRE OFF from under that pan!! I DID IT AGAIN! Luckily James caught it. After the dr’s we get home and I look at the chicken that I’m supposed to turn into dinner and I feel like I’ve slammed into a wall and can’t lift a finger. Exhausted, completely and utterly. We got take out. So, things that I’ve thought were other things, I’m seeing connections to fibro.

I’ve been working on Lord’s Prayer (take 2) and making good progress. March 26th is National Wear Purple Day to help raise awareness for Epilepsy. As many of you know, my son has Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy and it is a long hard word to travel. We now face employers that won’t hire due to the epilepsy, even if they don’t come out and say it. Wear purple to show your support of Epilepsy Awareness. There are 50,000 death in the US PER YEAR due to epilepsy. To give you some perspective, there are 39,520/year from breast cancer, 15,000/year from prescription overdose, 12,000/year from skin cancer, and 10,228/year from drunk driving. Now think about how much you hear about some of these other causes, how much some of these other causes get in research, epilepsy is WAY down on the ladder. Awareness needs to be raised not only for research, but to help take the stigma out of it for those who suffer from it. 1 in 10 people will have at least 1 seizure sometime in their lifetime. For many, that will be the only seizure they have. But for too many others, they will continue and they will be diagnosed as having epilepsy. So please, wear purple, post in purple, stitch in purple, speak out, do something please to help raise awareness!
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-42129412905690897912013-02-28T09:35:00.001-06:002013-02-28T09:35:30.981-06:00Not a week I want to repeat!!!
Wow! I totally centered the material wrong on my snaps. So I am starting it over and this time marked my margins before putting it back on the snaps. I haven’t been able to stitch for a couple of days now due to such severe hand pain. I did have my dr appt yesterday. My first time back in a year, which is really sad considering all the pain I’ve been facing and most of it new. I really expected to hear “osteoarthritis”. I can not tell you how much I expected to hear this. But after talking and an exam, he really does not feel it is arthritis. When I can afford to he wants to do some test to definitively rule out RA, but he very much feels it is fibromyalgia. I just quickly looked at a fact sheet of it last night and was shocked to realize what I thought fibro was is quiet a bit different than what it is. We’re making some med adjustments. He talked to me about making myself a priority, and although he understands finances are tough, that I really need to see him more often. That me just living in this sort of pain is unnecessary. Life is not about seeing how tough I am. That I need to take care of myself. He really is a wonderful dr that takes the time to talk to you. My goal is to go back in 3 months, see how I’m doing on new meds and get that RA test done. So that is about it in my corner of the world!!
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-51945359532943695222013-02-23T11:27:00.001-06:002013-02-23T11:27:35.511-06:00Paybacks and more snow
Finally a quiet weekend!! Yesterday was errand day and I found and sale and had a coupon for a different cat litter than I normally buy. Something Scoop in a purple box. So we transferred it into the Tidy Cats container. The lid wouldn’t close all the way and I really didn’t think it would be a problem. It was only for a day or two as it is time to clean the kitty box on Sunday and filling it back up would solve this problem. See where this is going? Yeah, I think the kitties are miffed that I spoiled their kitty litter “cover the floor'” antics by getting them a covered littered box. After putting in about 20 stitches I decided to just pack it up for now. I worked on Ty’s wolves, “The Pack” for a bit, until he came in and totally upset me. Then I switched to “The Lord’s Prayer”. This one seems to have my undivided attention right now. It is gorgeous and it just calms me so much as I stitch on it. I guess I’m just not a good “rotation” person. I feel like a bad “stitch mommy”, neglecting all my other stitch children in favor of just one. Here is where I got to day before yesterday:

I didn’t get to stitch yesterday due to a nasty headache. Nothing was getting rid of it, then my mom told me to try some meclizine. That did the trick, which shocked me. It is trying to come back this morning, so I’ve taken some ibuprofen and a trusty meclizine. Hopefully that will keep it away so I can stitch. I woke up to a slight dusting of snow on the ground. I was NOT happy to see this. It has luckily already melted, BUT there is a front moving in and we are expecting 1-3 inches sometime tomorrow. I know it is much needed moisture, and hopefully the cold is helping get rid of nasty summer critters hibernating in the ground, but I am sick of the cold. I am ready for the moisture to appear in rain. I’m off to stitch now! I hope everyone has a wonderfully crafty weekend!
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-15989956470891124412013-02-19T11:04:00.001-06:002013-02-19T11:04:42.671-06:00Woo Hoo!
My lamp made it in yesterday!! These were my thoughts on it last night that I posted on facebook:

Ode to my new lamp....
Oh how I love how the lamp part has an adjustable height..
I love that you are on wheels..
Especially with your concrete base!!
I love that you don't fall over on me now!
The clip holding my pattern..how awesome you are...just the right height and closeness
But my most favoritest part is this little handy dandy gadget that will (hopefully) keep the kitties out of my thread!! No more having to put away threads if I'm just going to work on the same pattern the next day!!
The only downfall I have seen so far, is unlike my last lamp, this tray "clips" on and I don't like the choices of where to clip it on, nor is it as secure. I wish they would of kept it where it went in between the two lamp posts!

Isn’t that just the coolest? I posted over there on the 2nd page. I had a lot to ponder yesterday. I’ve been angry lately. And I talked to my counselor about it yesterday. The results, I have a lot to think about. So I followed what was calling to me and put The Lord’s Prayer on the snaps yesterday. I really do think I’m going to just love this piece. I love the colors so far. And, I’m not kidding, I felt so at peace while working on this. So calm. That rarely happens for me. See, one of the downfalls of being bi-polar is that your brain never SHUTS UP! Meditation is next to impossible, blanking your mind…yeah right. It constantly goes, worse than the energizer bunny. And it’s favorite thing to focus on is negative stuff. Yeah, makes for a grumpy person. So it is a constant battle to fight it and tell yourself not to stress, there isn’t anything you can do about it today, so let it go, etc. But I’m telling you, when I was stitching on this, my mind calmed, I calmed. Well, maybe not so much when James would walk into the room, but otherwise I sure did. Yeah, I’m going to really enjoy working on this piece!

Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-34347999820300821942013-02-17T23:08:00.001-06:002013-02-17T23:08:02.321-06:00It’s not really over is it?
After all it’s a 3 day weekend right? Even though I didn’t officially sign up for IHSW, I still participated. I spent most of the weekend on Halloween House. I got a page finish in!!

When I started I was maybe halfway through the third roof. Everything to the left of the roof had been done. So I feel pretty good about my progress. I still had an hour or so to go this evening before I wanted to stop, so I gridded the wolf pattern a little. And took it out. And gridded it again. It still doesn’t look right, but it will do. I tried to get some stitches in, but dang it, misread the key and used the wrong color so had to frog it. So no real progress there. Now I will be confused as to where I’m at and have to find my way as I had highlighted it as done. I so hate it when that happens!! So instead I got some snuggle time in with Mr. Logan.

He’s kneading as he drifts off. He usually does this suckle thing too. Left over from when he was a bottle fed baby I guess. He’s such a cutie patootie.

Issabella was jealous.

And not to leave my baby girl out, here is Cashew. If the weather is decent she goes with me to pick Seb up from school. The weather has to be decent because she insist on the window being down and I refuse to freeze my rear off for her. I had forgotten that Seb was staying after for tutorials, so we went to Sonic. I got a corn dog and Cashew got tater tots all to herself. Then we went back to the school and had to wait. Cashew didn’t like the waiting. It was different than normal and she wasn’t sure what was up, but she was happy to be with her momma.

She’s a happy girl!! And yes, that’s the leg of my Valentine jammies!! LOL. It was a jammy day!!
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-69454974627701939702013-02-15T23:46:00.001-06:002013-02-15T23:46:38.458-06:00Okay, so I couldn’t resist….
I was really going to try and wait until the last order of fabby came in and then do an all in one pic of my awesome fabby’s….. Yeah, I couldn’t wait. I had to pull out what I got to do and look, and touch. I also partnered them up with the patterns they are going with. So here is what I got in the mail today….

Aren’t these some pretty colors??

The 2 green’s are silkweaver’s if you couldn’t guess. Sorry about that. Camera phone and you know how that goes. The one in the background is the Lord’s Prayer and it is calling to me pretty loudly and will probably be put on the snaps this weekend. The other is the Glendon Place “Come Sit a Spell”. It is too cute, but man 95 colors? Whew. Yeah, considering there are 13 projects in the project bag, 3 on snaps and 3 to be bagged…1 is a HAED, 3 are Witch Stitch ‘n Bitch patterns? Yeah, Sit a Spell may go in the file box for a little while.
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-15890222813182408372013-02-15T11:09:00.001-06:002013-02-15T11:09:45.432-06:00Finally, an update!
I’ve only been meaning to do it for a week or two!! I have to hide my jump drive from the kitties because it has a lanyard on it. They love to attack it. Well, I had stuck it in the drawer, to tired to do the blog post the night of my finish, and I’ve just now drug it back out. So, with that rather long winded explanation….here is the finish of Spongebob!!

Okay, so I can’t get him turned the right way….sorry. But he is done!! Still need to wash, dry, iron and frame him. I still need to iron and frame the minecraft for the other nephew. My mom is flying me up to the big D for few days next month, so I will just take them with me to give to them. It is such a relief to have that dratted yellow done!!

I bought 2 14x14 snaps, Halloween House is on 1, and I put the fabby for Coyote on the other. I am snails pace gridding it. I have a hec of a time gridding 28 count and I have to pull and re-count more than I actually grid, so only 1 row is actually gridded. But I’ll get it there. I needed a larger count, easier to do project this past week with it being Kenzie’s heaven birthday, so I put one of Ty’s easier wolf projects on one of the smaller snaps and put a few stitches in it.

I finally got to order my late Christmas and my new lamp is on its way. I also ordered lots of new fabby, some new clamps for some of my snaps and some crafters gloves. Don’t worry, James got spoiled with gig bags for his music equipment, a gig outfit, etc. I want to get one more 14x14 frame for my HAED. So that is on the list. I’m trying to wait till the last of my stash comes in and then take pics. We’ll see how long I hold out!!

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! James “bought” (poor guy, he never gets to actually buy me anything, I always buy it and tell him “look what you got me”) a new purse and new pj’s. He also took me out to eat last night, which was the first time I’ve ever been out to eat on Valentine’s day. We found a nice little Chinese food place by our house, which was totally not crowded. So it was really nice to get out of the house just us
Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-89901476244516275292013-02-05T23:33:00.001-06:002013-02-05T23:33:49.887-06:00Finally conquered that arm!!
I got a really good nights sleep last night and boy what a difference it makes! I woke up feeling perky and good this morning!! After the morning of typical check lists and house stuff, I settled in to stitch and I conquered that Sponge Bob arm that was giving me so much trouble!! I made quite a bit of progress on him today!! Yay!!!

Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653586629149222401.post-90750079829551770602013-02-03T21:54:00.002-06:002013-02-03T21:54:42.923-06:00Progress Pic??Progress pic, why yes, I will post one...if I HAD one!! But noooo, the <strike>idiotic, possessed, devil-incarnate</strike>, blasted Sponge Bob just IS NOT co-operating with me! I have stitched AND frogged the same freaking arm 5 times now!! 5 TIMES!! It is really not that hard, and I guess I must be that stupid!! I don't think the fabric can survive another frogging. So I must get it right this next time. I swear that one arm is driving me nuts. So my stitching progress this week, well, it just has not been progress.
On the home front, Ty and the rest of us seem to be in some sort of holding pattern. He's sleeping until 3,4, 5 and up till wee hours of the morning. So very little interaction with him. He's had a few smarmy comments that I reply rather bland and "whatever" to, and James comes back with some rather witty ones that make me want to give him a high 5. I went to visit <strike>one of my friends</strike> my one real life friend, Della, 2 nights in a row and stayed out rather late. Ty seemed rather worried about this and did not understand why I was not home. He wasn't ugly about it, he just, I don't know, almost seemed pitiful. But I didn't let it phase me and I really enjoyed spending time with someone other than my family and getting out of my house!!

It's been a rough week with Seb, but hopefully the re-direction will take hold. He has done better this week-end so I have hope. I was making lists yesterday and looking around the house at some things that needed to be done but yet would be almost impossible to get my guys to do. So I started wondering how much it would cost me to have someone come out and do them. Then I though, hmmm. I made a "For Hire" list and gave it to each of my 3 guys and posted 1 on the fridge. It listed all the chores and how much I will pay for them to be done. I will hold a family meeting the night tax returns come in and it will be a first come, first serve that night, for all 3, including James, to do some "for hire" chores and get some extra money. And I get stuff done that I'm wanting done :) Everyone will be happy. Well, maybe not Ty, he threw his list away saying he will be working full time by then. Hmm, we'll see. Seb is excited over this prospect. James thinks he shouldn't be included, but I do. He deserves a chance also instead of just being left with what is left over as "honey do chores", after all, he works all day at work and he does so much around the house since I can't do as much.

All the furs are doing good. Crazy and silly as ever. They don't like it when I'm gone from the house and tend to pout and act really obnoxious when I get back, but hopefully they will get used to it. I don't want to keep isolating myself, getting out was good :)Shandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13774519153099945474noreply@blogger.com3
